TECHNICAL OPTIMIZATION
The technical optimization of your website covers a lot of the things that you don’t necessarily see when you’re looking at a website. How the page is code, how certain text is tagged, schema markup – these are all things that website designers often neglect because they are only focused on how the face of the website looks.
The problem with that is Google doesn’t really look at the face of your website. They look at the code. They understand a lot about your individual pages based on how you have implemented the content from a technical standpoint. If you aren’t doing this from an SEO lens, then you’re not reaching your full SEO potential.
When you search the term “SEO Company Indianapolis” you’ll land on a page that looks nice, but what Google sees is, in part, the image to the right. Has your website been set up with proper technical implementation to boost your SEO rankings?
One of the technical components that you can see – sort of – is page speed. You may not see the components that determine how quickly your website will load, but you certainly can tell if a website is loading slowly or loading quickly.
According to Google, a 100-millisecond delay in load time can cause conversion rates to drop by 7%. So not only does a slow website make you lose conversions, that page speed factor is a direct contributor to your ability to rank at the top of the search engine results.
